Year 1

In Year 1 we love to challenge ourselves independently and we are always trying to stretch our fantastic, elastic brains. We are resilient learners which means that we never give up, even when we find something tricky.

This term, we will be learning about the history of “travel and transport”. We will be:

  • Researching how transport has changed over the years.
  • Identifying modern forms of transport.
  • Investigating what modes of transport people used before cars, trains and planes were invented.
  • Grouping recent and early modes of transport.

To this end, we are planning a fabulous day trip to the North York Moors Railway. We will be taking a ride on a real steam train after which, we will continue on to Pickering Castle in order to kick start our study of “buildings”.
