About Us

Our Lady and St Peter Voluntary Catholic Academy is part of the St Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Academy Trust and the family of Catholic Schools across the Diocese of Middlesbrough.

Our school is a vibrant, culturally diverse, inclusive and friendly academy located in Bridlington on the East Yorkshire coast, which serves our local church the parish of Our Lady & St Peter's and our local community. We strive to accept the mission of Jesus in everything we do, every day.

As a caring school, we welcome you to our school website and hope that you find it full of useful information.

“Christ is the foundation of the whole educational enterprise in a Catholic school. His revelation gives new meaning to life and helps us to direct our thought, action and will, according to the Gospel.”

In our own individual ways, all of us at Our Lady & St Peter's share this Christian vision.

Our Lady & St Peter's is a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School for children aged 3-11 years. It is a day school for boys and girls.

Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted at our last inspection, we are proud of our pioneering, creative and challenging approach to education whilst providing our students with the highest standards of pastoral care and extra-curricular opportunities.

The School Day

Children should not arrive at school before 8.30am as there is no supervision available until that time.

On arrival at school the children must go straight into the playground. If the weather is bad, children may come into school and go straight into their own classrooms if staff are present. Children in Early Years can play in their own playground area under their parents’ supervision until the bell is rung and the children are brought into the classroom.
All children should enter school by the side gate which is locked during the school day.
Children arriving late or mid-session should enter by the main entrance via the office.

All children should be collected from school by a responsible person. If someone different from usual is collecting your child, please inform the teacher. If someone unfamiliar comes to collect your child, we will challenge them. If you need to collect your child early, for any reason, please ‘sign out’ your child at the school office and remember to sign them in again if you return them to school in mid session.

Please try to arrange appointments for children out of school hours as these can be very disruptive to the school day.
