Online Safety

The internet is a great resource with many very helpful tools that aid our children with their learning. Our school prepares its pupils for the 21st Century by providing good opportunities for online learning and research. It is essential, however, that we ensure that our children are safe at all times when using the world wide web.

Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at school. We have extensive security and filtering measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.

Any Online Safety incidents are recorded and managed. Online Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.

Annually, we also celebrate Safer Internet Week. It’s essential to be realistic - banning the internet or technology will not work and it often makes a child less likely to report a problem.
